June 8th, The Big Day

Image
The Big Day        The beginning of June 8th: Today is the day! Today is the day! Today is the day I'm leaving America for the first time! I woke up and got ready fast to head out for some last minute shopping. We got Starbucks, picked up a few things at CVS for our trip, then walked over to the salon. The salon is beautiful, painted with light yellows and pinks while music box type tunes play creating a nice ambience for a spa day. We told the lady at the front desk what we were looking for; manicures, pedicures, and waxing. I had never been waxed before in my life and, lucky me, I got to go first. I got directed to a nice room in the very back of the salon with a table that was a bit larger then me to lay down on. The lady seemed innocent enough, Asian, very pretty with dark short hair, bright blue eyes, and a bright pink/red lipstick on. Her looks were not deceiving, she was as sweet as she looked, but the act being done was not as comforting as her face. I lifted...

June 7th, Settling In

Image
Settling In     Today was a day of exactly what the title says, settling in. I woke up around 2pm New Jersey time, still not used to the time change, and slumped down the stairs to lunch. I had a beautiful, really beautiful, roast beef sandwich and a cup of coffee. While I ate, my cousin Edie told me about all the crazy girls, lucky boys, drama, and everything else at her school. I find it extremely interesting to be able see into someone else's life, to not recognize any names or faces but to only know these people from one persons' perception of them. You meet strangers through another person's eyes, strangers you'd otherwise not know existed. You're probably thinking, Cam, it's not that deep, but I've found it much more enriching to think deeply about the small things rather than over think the big things. The small things you can control, change, and take what you want from them. If you try to think deeply about the big things, the things you can't ch...

June 6th, The plane

Image
The Plane     At this exact moment I am laying in bed, attempting to stay awake (excuse the typos). Today was full of teary-eyed see ya laters and long hugs I didn't want to pull away from. Though no matter how much I wanted to plant my feet into cement in that moment, I knew what I really needed was waiting in seat 11E. As soon as I walked through the doors of the plane I felt that all the emotions that were outside those doors stayed there and I was ready to take on whatever was waiting for me. Though what I wasn't ready to take on was navagating my seat. Seat 11E, simple enough, right? Wrong. I waltzed halfway down  isle, a line of people following me, when I realized I passed my seat way up front. I turn around and walk back up the isle, still lost, and sort of go into panick mode. I do not panick like most people, I don't explode into tears, I mostly just embarrass myself. So my brain forced word throw up out of my mouth and I exclaimed, "I have no idea ...

June 6th, Welcome To My Blog

Image
Welcome To My Blog! Hello friends and welcome to my travel diaries! I've always had a deep, boiling hatred for introduction paragraphs. Honestly, the only thing I want to  introduce when writing these things is myself to the "other side". Like why do you need an introduction to what my blog is about? You are here, aren't you? So I'm sure you already know I'll be traveling to France and boarding a cruise for 8 days, later letting us off to explore Paris for a few nights. After exploring the land of baguettes, we will get on a plane back to The States where I'll be dropped off at performing arts camp for three weeks. I'll be expressing this trip through desperate attempts at photography and stories of the experiences that came with them right here, in this blog, every day. Oh, but if you didn't know all that--then now you do. Welcome to my blog ;-)   | Thankyou for reading my blog!  For more posts:  Follow my Instagram: @thegrooviest Questio...

How To: Guide To My Blog

Image
Hello friends! If you are interested in reading my blog, I appreciate you being here. If you aren't interested and you're just here to laugh, you're still interested. Here are a couple tips to make your experience here as easy going as I pretend to be.       - How do I search?      Since I will have a blog post up every day, it may be hard to keep up. If you're anything like me you probably forget things like it's your job. I wanted to make it simple and fast to search any post you miss or want to come back to. Here's how:  In the upper right hand corner there is a small search icon. Tap the icon to bring up the search bar.                       2.   Simply enter the written month and day to bring up a post.  The way I will title all of my blogs is with the written month and day followed by a title. For example, my introduction to my blog will be labeled "June 6th, Welcome...
