June 17, USA!

Image
USA!    I hope you don't mind my absence of posts, I started making real memories which are expensive and don't take checks, only time. If you aren't a fan of riddles, I just haven't had time. Not only did I lack in time, but there are simply some memories I've made that are just better told in person, and some that just aren't meant for everyone to see. So I could tell you the details of my breakfast and the way the Eiffel Tower looks, or I could tell you what I learned. If you would rather choice number 1, I'm sure Yelp has you covered. Check it out.   This trip was an absolute dream; I traveled from France to Italy to Rome and back to France. Ive been terrified staring into black water alone on a floating death trap and Ive laughed so hard in the card room I couldn't breathe. I've walked high end shopping streets and taken wrong turns down alleyways. Ive had pigeon and wine in a five star restaurant and had lamb hotdogs on the river at midnight. I...

(Backup) June 15th, Sea day

Sea Day      Bam! Bam! What was that? I woke up and checked my phone: 2pm. Edie and I had been up till 3am the night before and woke up super late because we knew since we would be sailing all day we wouldn't have to wake up early. I thought I heard something at the door but wasn't certain. I ran to the bathroom and Edie got up and shuffled to the door and there they were. All four of them; Jake, Alexa, Patty, and Cat  Kat. Edie and I rubbed our eyes while the four of them all spoke excitedly at once. We told them we'd be out in ten and rushed to the closet to throw on some clothes. I slipped on my yellow bikini followed by a blue dress and headed up to the deck to meet the others. We all had lunch at the buffet set up by the pool then grabbed some chairs by the pool. We all stripped down to our bathing suits and went tot he bar to order some virgin drinks. We sat out for awhile, exchanging contact info and laughing at random things then decided to all head up t...

June 13th, ROMEing Around

Image
ROMEing Around       I'll skip the details of my morning routine and jump right into the good stuff because I'm sure your tired of reading about me choosing iced coffee over a cappuccino, and if you're not tired of reading it then I'm sure tired of writing it.     To start our excursion for the day we got on a bus to take a tour of Rome. My aunt, Edie, and I hopped on the bus and sat in our cushioned seats each taking a seat for ourselves so we could rest a bit. I had woken up early that morning and gone to bed very late the night before and my body was rubbing my poor choices in my face. I could barely keep my eyes open, yet I couldn't sleep because the whole hour and a half bus tour our guide was talking and talking. She had some informative information that was interesting but she just had such an annoying voice I was about to rip my hair out of my scull one strand at a time. I don't have a problem with accents, I actually find them especially pleas...

June 12, Pisa or Pizza?

Image
Pisa or Pizza?   June 12th was filled with adventures. The day started normal with breakfast, yawns, and coffee. We decided we wanted to tour Pisa by ourselves instead of touring with the boat and go see the famous leaning tower. We left the security of our dock and hopped in a leather seated cab, which made things very sweaty since the air conditioning did not work (his wifi made up for it), and gave him our destination. We were driving through Tuscany and everything was going as planned. I was logging into the wifi, none of us were seatbelted nor paying attention, when we came to a congested area. For some reason there was only one lane open on a busy bridge and everyone in Tuscany was in line for it and willing to fight for an open spot to zoom past. Our taxi driver was kind to us but a very aggressive driver, he was about two inches from the car infront of us at all times. I was logging into the wifi when boom! The car jolted to a sudden stop and I, not sitting upright or weari...

June 11th, Launch Day

Image
Launch day    I lifted the covers, slipped on some clothes, zipped up my suit case, and headed out the door for breakfast. Edie and I began to scan the continental breakfast that consisted of fruit, bread, pastries, and breakfast meats and picked up a few things before sitting down at the table to meet my Aunt. We ate quickly and in no time were headed out the door of our pretty baby pink hotel into our taxi on the way to the dock.  Today is launch day, the day we either get on a cruise ship for the experince of our life, or board a box of puke and stomachs aches for the next 7 days. We were expecting the ship to be medium sized and claustrophobic but were surprised when we drove up to a monster of a ship.    This ship looked straight out of Suite Life On Deck meets Titanic. We walked up the stairs of the oversized canoe and were greeted with champagne and punch ( there's a drinking age on the boat grrr) and walked through the entrance. Similar to the Titanic, t...

June 10th, I have a small idea of what's going on

Image
I Have A Small Idea Of What's Going On                      Today was another easy day of relaxation. Edie and I woke up late and headed down to lunch to meet my Aunt after a nice night of almost deadly deep sleep. I ate an avacado and artichoke salad as we looked over the bright blue ocean. We mumbled conversation and ate, well rested but still waking up, then pushed in our chairs and walked back to the room. Today was massage day. I'd been looking forward to this day since we booked it two days prior. I had only had one other massage in my life and it was absolutely marvelous. We headed out for our massages and began to hunt for the spa which was hidden like the we were in The Labrynth. We followed the directions and got lost for awhile before discovering a mysterious staircase hidden through the bushes. We walked down into the darkness and saw a plain black door. Looked safe enough so we opened it slowly and peaked in. There...

June 9th, wait what?

Image
Wait what?        [ I'm not going to bamboozle you and pretend I'm writing this June 9th. Right now it is definitely 6:05 on the 10th (Arizona time, 3:06am the 11th France time) and I was definitely too tired to write anything worth reading (I tried and gave up). I've decided to write and post every post a day late so I can tell you about the entire day from start to finish and also to give myself more flexibility of time to write. Though every post will be labeled as the day they are about, not the day they are posted. Either way you should have something new every day but if you don't it's because of the odd time differences and when I post. But there will be posts about every day! ] Continuing June 8th post..     I woke up frightened to a flight attendant tapping my shoulder with a tray that consisted of muffins, bread, yogurts, and a cup of coffee. I took off my complimentary sleep mask, brushed down my wild hair, and began to eat. It was delicious. I ...
